Background
Pia is the UK’s leading independent provider of accessible print and digital formats, producing braille, large print, audio, easy read, BSL and accessible PDFs for organisations across the country.
Given Pia’s mission, accessibility couldn’t just be a message on the page, it had to be built into the site itself. We designed a website with accessibility at its core, from clear navigation and legible typography to considered colour contrast and screen-reader-friendly structure, ensuring the site practises what Pia preaches.
Warm illustration and a friendly, human tone were used to make a technical subject feel approachable, while dedicated service pages break down each format clearly for buyers who may be researching accessibility requirements for the first time.
The result is a site that reflects Pia’s 40 years of experience and employee-owned values, while genuinely serving the audiences it was built for.
