Background

DC Salon Products is an exciting new startup business, distributing the hair and beauty industry with a brand new range of formaldehyde-free hair straightening treatments exclusively available to stylists and salons.

Co-founders Sabrina Dolan and Zoe Carnell have embarked on a mission to educate the industry about the revolutionary new treatment which offers outstanding results whilst also being vegan-friendly and containing no harmful chemicals – making it safe for use during pregnancy.

The product range is part of an exclusive distribution deal with Prolab who have seen explosive growth in popularity across other regions globally.

The Challenge

Introducing a new treatment range into an extremely competitive industry is no small feat. The primary focus for the business was and continues to be, to drive awareness and educate the market about the significant benefits and results obtained by using the treatments. DC Salon Products instructed us to work closely with them to develop a corporate identity and branding for the business.

Although DC Salon Products does not sell direct to consumer, a primary objective of the website is to educate both salons and the end users of the treatments. This required us to create branding and a website which would be suited towards both audiences.

The company vision is to provide revolutionary hair treatments and the brand needed to reflect this by invoking a positive emotional response from the target demographic.

A key consideration for the project was that it would be under strict time constraints of under 5 weeks from instruction to launch and would be immediately launched with a PR and digital marketing campaign.

The launch of the business has been a huge success – with the introduction of the new website and key branding elements, DC Salon Products has seen positive exposure from key influencers within the industry such as celebrity hair stylist, Jack Merrick-Thirlway who has since been appointed as brand ambassador for the company.

As the journey continues, our team continue to work with DC Salon Products providing ad-hoc support, graphic design and fine-tuning of the user experience on the website. Future plans include further web development for an an online stockists portal to process orders and provide educational materials.
